There is a war going on for your mind, if you are thinking you are winning.
Home Life
It´s been a long road, getting from there to here.

About a year has passed since my last blog entry and everyone has been bugging me to update. When your job is moving and fixing websites you tend not to want to look at any more of them in your spare time. I’m going to split this into two posts the first being about my moves and former house, the second about my job change.
50 miles and two moves later, here I am in Provo. I never thought I would be living in Utah county, but I’ve been here for 7 months now.
It was torturous trying to sell my house in West Jordan, while living in 50 min. away in Orem, and working a new job at the same time, but with my the help of Keller Williams Realty and my agent Fonda Oliphant we got through it.
I loved my home in good ol’ WJ, but I tell you it’s good to live 10 min. from work especially with gas prices the way they are. Lets look back (or for the first time for some of you) at my former home.
I moved out of my house in West Jordan in advance of selling it, that way I figuered it could be cleaned up and not have to be kept clean. While this was true the drives back and forth for cleaning and fixing were a big hassle. The second and more serious problem was trying to get it sold while paying for the lease all by myself which more then drained me dry of money, it actually put me in debt, and I’m still catching up 4 months later.
From West Jordan I ended up in Orem. Utah valley or “happy valley” as it’s known. It was my friend Richie and his friend Kris all in a 2 bedroom apartment. I lived for about 3 months on a couch with the coat closet as my clothes closet and 90% of my belongings in storage. It’s funny how humans can adapt to anything, and it was pretty hard getting used to sleeping on a regular bed again after the next move.
After Orem, my room mate Kris bought a townhouse in Provo, so Richie and I of course moved with him. I must admit this place is very nice, my own room, my own bed, a bathroom on every floor (it’s 3 floors high), and all that at 1/2 my former rent/bills. Richie and Kris even purchased a living room set that is so sweet, it was so nice that it took a while to get used to it feeling like my living room and not the living room of a friend’s parents, who would be very angry if you messed anything up. I will try to post some pictures of my current place as I get them.
So there you have it, 50 miles from West Jordan, the city I spent most of my life in, but feeling very at home in Provo, UT.
Yo listen up here’s a story about a guy that lives in a blue world

I’ve almost completely redesigned my site. I widened it, colored it, and changed the header image. I’m ecstatic with how it turned out. I love the color black, but for my site it was just a little drab and I didn’t really see that until I added some color to it. I started my site out with the chaotic soul theme and slowly its been morphing into my own custom creation. I still need to re-design my AMV section, but for now bask in the blueish glory!
My vacation to West Virginia was great, I got to see my family, got some reading done, even went to an amusement park, but for the most part I just chilled out and relaxed. My mom always treats me too well when I’m there, making it so I don’t have to lift a finger to do anything, and my sisters are always looking for something for us to do, I was too spoiled there, it was great.
A while back I saw info on a multi-touch LCD screen and was astounded (for non technophiles, until recently any touch screen could only register one point of contact) well finally this technology has been made into a product by none other then Microsoft. With a pricetag of $10,000 its going to be a while before it finds its way into homes, but as with all technology as time goes on the price will drop and this technology will be everywhere.
Take me home country roads

I’m flying to West Virginia on the 24th to see my Mom and the WV crew. I’m really excited to see all of them again and get some relaxation and reading done. What I’m not looking forward to is the flight out. I imagine that the engineers that took measurements for the proper size of seats in aircraft must have only had the pygmy tribes of Africa for models since it is impossible for anyone over 5’5″ and 150 Lbs. to be comfortable in them. Travel is not so bad on the 737s that typically take you along the first leg of the journey to Cincinnati or Chicago, but the last leg to Charleston is always done in a Canadian Regional Jet or CRJ as they are called. These planes are so small that they commonly have people move to different seats for proper weight distribution and unlike the 737 the CRJs are designed not for the average pygmy but for children, midgets, and amputees. Riding in one of these is like riding in the back of a sports car, a sports car with 50 back seats filled with people you don’t know.
On the lucid dreaming front I’ve had two new successes.
The first dream, I was attending a birthday party for a rich guy who I didn’t know. After the party I was traveling home by way of snow tube (the tubes you sled on). About halfway home I realized that I had left my shoes and one of my socks at the party, I also thought that traveling over the point of the mountain on a snow tube at night would probably not be safe. I slid back to the mansion of the rich dude and was trying to find him so I could ask if I could stay the night. I looked through about a half dozen rooms when I came across one that was filled with cabinets, and cabinet was a music box that played a different song, and I realized that I had seen this room in another dream and at that point realized I was dreaming. I then tried to change the house literally with the waiving of my hand, which didn’t work exactly but I did make the rich dude into a rich woman, but, right as I started talking to her I woke up.
The second dream I had, I was riding down a country lane on a motorcycle and popping a wheelie with each shift of the gears. The trees on either side were fall colors and some leaves littered the ground and the wind blowing by felt great. I don’t think there was anything in particular that I noticed but I just suddenly realized I was dreaming so I pointed the motorcycle for the sky and took off into the air. As I headed upwards I saw the sky was just crappy grayness and I thought “No, I want blue skies.” and the skies started to break apart into individual clouds and I soared up between them, then I woke up.
It’s been a couple weeks now since the motorcycle flying dream and I haven’t had another lucid dream, but the good thing with practicing lucid dreaming is, you get a chance to practice every night.
In other news I am now the big 3 0 and in my wise old age of 30, I have come to the conclusion that old, is always older then you. No matter how old you get, you will always think, (my age + 10 years) now that’s old.
P.S. No matter how comfortable with air travel you are, and I am very used to it, you always think “What if this time is the time something goes wrong and I plummet to a fiery death.” so if that happens I just want you to all know….. I never really liked any of you, and I want all my possessions blended into a paste and used to fill my coffin =P
Sweet dreams are made of this

It’s been some time since my last update. I’ve been busy at work which is where I have typically been doing my updates from.
Lately I have been fascinated with the concept of lucid dreaming after coming across it by chance in wikipedia. For those of you who haven’t heard the term, wikipedia defines lucid dreaming as such “Lucid dreaming (lucid from Latin, lux “light”) is the conscious perception of one’s state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer experience and can be as if the dreamer were awake, even sometimes enabling direct control over the content of the dream, a realistic world that is to some degree in the control of the dreamer.”
So far I haven’t had much luck in controlling my dreams, at least not in the full and complete way that I would like. My only small successes have been once when I dreamt I was being pulled over by a police officer, I chuckled to myself and thought “I don’t think so” and woke myself up. The second time I was dreaming of being in my living room and trying to turn on a light, no matter how many light switches I tried I just couldn’t get the light to come on, I then realized that light switches are one of the things that seldom work properly in dreams and are therefore considered a “dreamsign” and then to verify this to myself I woke up. I’ve heard that a lot of people when they are in a dream and realize they are dreaming they wake themselves up in the excitement, however for me this particular time I think it was more of a “I think I might be dreaming let me test by trying to wake up” kind of thing, however I still kick myself over it. For those of you who are intrigued by all this I recommend a book called “Exploring the world of lucid dreaming” which can be found here
In my waking life I have been playing Lord of the Rings Online. So far its been pretty fun. It combines some of the best elements of World of Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons Online, and City of heroes/villains. It seems like it will be a good game but like all MMORPGs only time will tell if it has any staying power. Here are some screen shots for your ogling pleasure.
I have also added pictures to my galleries as follows Misc (7), Funny (12), and R Rated Humor (6) and I have added 4 new videos to my AMV Gallery.
P.S. as much as I like the coolness of the flash gallery, I am working on a more standard way to view them that will allow for full screen goodness, stay tuned!
Fly like an eagle… er griffin.
Mar 4th
My priest on world of warcraft finally hit level 70 and is the proud owner of a snowy white 2007 griffin ES!
Being able to fly anywhere (albeit slowly) is such a cool feeling, It’s almost like the game has changed from 2D to 3D.
The push from level 60 to 70 wasn’t all that difficult. I would guess that it took about 60 hours of playing time.
The sad thing is that during this time I’ve seen several people start a brand new level 1 character and manage to beat me to level 70 despite my 60 level head start. The amount of playing time to achieve 1 to 70 in a month is staggering. I would place a rough guess at a minimum of 8 hours a day 7 days a week or approximately 1680 hours.
The sad thing about all this is that for a person to do this they would have to have no job, no family comitments, or really no life outside of WoW whatsoever, and yet they are seen as heroes and strike awe into all that see them.
We really do live in a world where complete obsessive dedication despite the subject matter or contribution to society is rewarded highly.
As for me I’m going to stay an unglorified and unrecognized casual gamer.
P.S. I have added 25 new pictures to the WoW album in my gallery, check it out!
